Ohio Speech & Debate Association State Finals
Five talented students from Our Lady of the Elms showcased their skills and passion for speech and debate at the Ohio Speech & Debate Association State Finals held in Wooster on March 1-2.
Competing against top speakers and debaters from across Ohio, our state qualifiers represented Our Lady of the Elms with determination and grace. The Ohio Speech & Debate Association State Finals provided an invaluable experience for our students to hone their communication skills, critical thinking, and ability to articulate their viewpoints effectively. Ananya Sharma, Sarah Simonton, Hannah Partsch, Emma Roke, and Hazel Parramore displayed their exceptional abilities, contributing to our school's strong presence at the event.
Prior to the OSDA State Finals, Ananya Sharma competed at the Eastern Ohio NSDA District Tournament where she advanced to finals in United States Extemporaneous Speaking. She finished 6th and will serve as second alternate to Nationals.
Our Lady of the Elms is incredibly proud of our team for their hard work, dedication, and impressive performances throughout the season. Their participation in these prestigious events reflects the school's commitment to fostering academic excellence, leadership, and lifelong learning.
